Site Appearance:
The site theme is a sheet of parchment laid on polished marble, giving the impression that something creative is going on, but with a solid and permanent foundation. That impression is ironically juxtaposed by my conversational writing style.
Nav Controls:
Every page has three skip links.
The link to this, page, alt+0.
Skip to Content, alt+1.
Skip to Menu, alt+2.
Heading level 1 will cycle through the menu, the search, and the start of main content.
Heading level 2 is used only at the start of main content.
Heading levels 3 and 4 cycle through the major and minor divisions of both the menu and the main content.
Layout:
At the top, the skip links, then a google ad box, and then a graphic header.
Next, the menu. There is a site search field just after the menu links. After the search field, another google ad box.
Next, the main content. Each article starts with heading 1 and heading 2. Headings 3 and 4 are scattered throughout the articles. Some articles are rather long, and a few, being table tutorials, contain small sample tables and HTML sample code blocks. Some articles in the ham radio section contain very large tables, such as frequency lists, but most do not.
Last, the footer with the usual copyright and validation graphics.
The page ends with another set of the three skip links. This makes them work even when a skip link skips the top set.
This site is coded to W C A G and section 5 O 8 guidelines. I hope you find it enjoyable!
