Who?
Harold Melton, KV5R, is an independent contractor, performing technical works-for-hire for discerning clients. He is a fifty-year-old Christian man who works from home, via the Internet.
He is fanatical about craftsmanship, integrity, and honesty. He believes that work performed must be of the highest quality, both in creativity and execution; that clients should be more than satisfied; that working relationships should be fair, balanced, and properly compensated—always a win-win.
Who Needs it?
Anyone that needs a classy web site to convey information about your company or organization—small businesses, professional practices, churches, service companies, government offices, home & family, and sundry other purposes.
- “I need a classy web site!” It’s what I do. Handmade fluid designs, with consortium-compliant code and an elegant appearance.
- “My web site is outdated, confusing, cluttered!” From a little maintenance, to complete web makeovers, I like to make it clean, unique, and user-friendly.
One may hire a wide variety of different web designers and developers. Most use fixed-width templates and wysiwyg development tools. Their goal is rapid production, not necessarily quality. The sites I build are completely handcrafted—and the surprise is that they usually cost less than production shop sites. Handcrafted sites also cost less to maintain, having clean coding with no dependence on expensive, proprietary development tools and outrageously over-complicated code.
Why KV5R?
It is important to have a professionally-designed and maintained web site, since end-users will form lasting impressions about you and your company based on the appearance and usefulness of your site. Professional layout, writing, and navigation are subjects that require considerable knowledge and skill.
The latest generation of KV5R web sites feature attractive architectural finishes, user-friendly navigation, fluid layouts, browser-controlled font size, and if a database back-end is desired, an online content management system—all controlled by advanced CSS and ASP/ADO/VBScript applications.
KV5R designs, develops, and maintains “information” web sites. He does not provide web server space (hosting), internet connection services, nor advertising services. At this time, he does not develop e-commerce sites, although he can develop a site for you and integrate your third-party shopping carts and billing services, which are readily available from a variety of sources.
It is even more important to find the right web developer, right from the start. KV5R has a diverse background in industrial design, maintenance, and training; AutoCAD drafting, desktop publishing, technical writing, computer-based training (CBT) development, and web design and development. All of these skills, and many years of experience, come together in KV5R Web Designs.
He is looking for opportunities to build and maintain web sites or produce technical documentation. He works from home, located near Athens, Texas. He always gets the work done—and done right!
